Our Bread

Natural and Fresh

Our breads begin with the finest all natural ingredients and with no preservatives, are aromatic, flavorful and fresh. Many of our breads begin with a natural starter, which is a combination of water, flour and live yeast that has been fermented. This natural starter is technically “alive” and with each baking we must take from the starter and add back or feed the starter so the fermentation process can begin anew. Natural starters give birth again and again to the next starter for the next loaf and long fermentation ensures superior flavor and texture.  Every morning we deliver our fresh baked bread to grocery stores and restaurants throughout the Kansas City area, making us the only bakery putting fresh bread on the shelves seven days a week.

Bread Care

Our bread is best enjoyed the day you purchase it.  If you are not going to eat the loaf right away, double bag a whole loaf or smaller portions in an airtight plastic bag and place in the freezer.  When ready to enjoy, thaw at room temperature for about four hours or overnight.  It is then best served by placing it in a 400° oven for three to five minutes. As with any good food, watch it carefully and once it is warm, take the loaf out and enjoy.
